Highlander’s Singapore team are qualified surveyors conducting radio survey on behalf of all the major Classification Societies. It is important that emergency and safety equipment is inspected and are in good condition. The purpose of such measures is to verify the condition of the ship and its equipment are maintained to conform with the provisions of the SOLAS regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board.

All our surveyors in our Radio Survey Team are well trained and capable of all other survey activities together with GMDSS radio survey at once; such as VDR / S-VDR annual performance test, AIS / SART / EPIRB annual performance test, or Gyro Annual Maintenance.

The IMO requires that all voyage data recorder – VDR systems undergo annual certification, APT (Annual Performance Test).

The purpose of these tests is fairly simple: to determine that a VDR/S-VDR is fully operational, as defined in the manufacturers’ (Highlander) specification. Whenever you need assistance, one of our qualified and well-experienced technicians is available to attend your vessel straight away.

Highlander provides maintenance services for cruise liners, dredgers, passenger and naval ships, offshore production, tankers, and support vessels. Our range of services cover maintenance, emergency call-outs, site inspection, mechanical and electrical equipment repair, in-situ repair and testing, and preventive maintenance. We help you to minimise disruption and extend the lifetime of your equipment.

The given Agreement consists between the Ship Owner or his Representative and Highlander with the purpose of maintenance of GMDSS equipment on the vessel specified in the Agreement in an effective working condition and conformity of the vessel.

Shore Based Maintenance Contracts (SBM) as required by SOLAS chapter IV reg.15. These are available for an annual fee and will include the following services:

  • Database kept with details of each vessels equipment
  • Alerts provided when new battery packs are required for SART’s, EPIRB’s and survival GMDSS VHF hand held sealed lithium packs.
  • After hours service telephone contact 365 days/year.
  • Emails monitored after hours.
  • Database of global service stations for all major marine electronic manufacturers
  • UK MCA authorised

The given Agreement consists for the period of one year and the Ship Owner should pay Highlander an annual payment depending on GMDSS Area within the limits of which the vessel is maintained.
